Som Tum Salad: Signature Dish from Northeast Thailand

TRADITIONAL SOMTUM (for 1 serving)

Ingredients:

50g raw papaya julienned

20g yardlong bean sliced in 1 inch segments

5-6 cherry tomatoes halved

chopped roasted peanuts (optional)

1/3 cup Ko Tae Xin Thai Somtum Dressing

Method:

In a pestle and mortar add the papaya, beans, and cherry tomatoes. Gently pound to release some juice from the tomatoes and partially crush the papaya and beans to allow the sauce to be absorbed throughout. Add the somtum dressing and toss all the ingredients until well coated. Serve on a plate or bowl and garnish with chopped peanuts

VARIATION:

FRUIT SOM TUM

Replace raw papaya in the recipe above with your favorite combination of fruit for a refreshing fruity version. We recommend diced apples, pears, and guava
